Flanders fields

It makes me appreciate life and it is also worrying the there could be world war 3 break out at any moment because of North korea and their Missiles and my cousin is in the army and he could be one of those 18,000 men that died.

The right to vote

I believe it is unfair that women aren't allowed to vote because what if there was a party that wanted women to vote and if they won that would be the new law, and since it was just men voting, they would have voted for another party because they would have thought women would vote for the wrong parties.

Would I like to have 9 siblings?

Nah ah. I would have a spasm attack because I have 2 brothers and they are so annoying sometimes I just want to give thema good hiding(Ok i have to admit, I do sometimes anyway B-)!!! So have 7 more to deal with. Jeez, just thinking about it makes me want to move out. So I guess thats my answer to have 9 siblings.

My favourite meal

Golden Bay Crumbed Kingfish -

Preheat oven to 180 Degrees

Rinse the fish slices then dry off by dabbing it with paper towels. Beat between 2 - 4 eggs(Depending on how much and how big the kingfish is) until yellow. Put the Kingfish slices in and cover with the egg yolk.  Then blend some bread, Make sure to remove the crusts unless you want it a little more crunchy. Blend until the bread turns into, well... not bread anymore. So it looks sorta like sand. Just quite a bit bigger. Again put that in a bowl or plate so you can cover the kingfish in. Then get 2 - 4 cups of flower(Again depending on how much or size of kingfish) and put on a plate or bowl to be able to cover kingfish slices in flour. Cover the kingfish in the three steps we just talked about. The put in the oven for 15 - 20 minutes or until the bread is light golden and fish is just cooked through.

My dream job

Compare my house to a wharepuni

2 Similarities: It is where people sleep, It is fairly big.

2 Differences: My house walls do not have ferns and bark on them, My house has insulation so me and my family don't freeze.

Maui and the giant fish facts

1. Mauis brothers did not think he was a good fisherman

2. The reason there are so many valleys and gullys is because people wanted food so they cut heaps of meat out.

3. The North Island represents the fish and the south island Mauis canoe.

Information Report ~ Fishing

Fishing

Fishing is something people do all over the world. While warmer waters like near Australia or Africa hold bigger fish, cooler waters like in Antarctica hold basicly no fish.

New Zealand is full of fish that you can catch. While small sharks and Kahawai hang around near bars, some fish like Bluefin Tuna are around Hokitika trench, Coromandel peninsula and much more.

Greymouth is home to many fish. Fishing from the wharf can catch Trout, Kahawai, Herring and sometimes Salmon, while fishing from the bar can catch Dogfish, Sharks, Grey Boys and much more.

I am going to talk to you about what times to fish, where to fish, and much more different qualities.

Bar fishing is a fun way to catch dinner, bait or just to catch n release. You can use many different rods, from big surfcasters to trout rods. Sharks are normally most common in bars. In order to catch sharks you need to have a strong rod as they are heavy and put up big fights. If you want to catch sharks and not have them break away by the line. Then I recommend between 25 pound line through to about 500 pound line depending on the bar. Bait to use can be basically anything with bloody meat, Being from herring to a whole head of a giant jack crevalle. Live bait is normally the best bait as it represents the live fish. But other fish, as long as they're quite bloody, can be dead and still catch big sharks. Good times to fish for sharks are anytime as they are always hangry. The best time though is normally night as they are more active.

Beach fishing is a great way to catch big fish. You can vary in sizes. Snapper, Mullet kahawai etcetera are caught in summer years, which is 1st December and through to last day of February. While sharks, Grouper and more are all year fishing. Beach fishing requires normally surfcasters as they can cast out past the waves. Again bloody meat is great as most fish you are after eat meat. Good times to fish at the beach, can be from about 9am to, well… Back to 9am I suppose. Basically anytime is good, daytime for kahawai, Snapper, Mullet and whatnot, but night is best for sharks and grouper.

River Fishing is one of the funnest ways to fish. From tiny perch or bluegill, to monster eels and maybe even closer up to the sea some bull sharks. Trout fishing is a great way to pass time. Trout and big eels tend to live in deep parts in river where the current is slow and there is big hiding places. Trout bite best on worms or spinners(Lures). Cast out far so the Lure has more time to attract the Trout. Make sure to keep your rod tip at about waist height and always keep reeling so you will not get snags. When you get a trout on make sure to fight it to stop it going into holes and cut your line. When it is up at your feet keep tension on the line so it doesn't spit the hook. Keep it in the water and hold it tightly with one hand and the other trying to get the hook out. If you want to keep it either grab a net and scoop the fish in it and pull it up. Or if you don’t have a net. Make sure to keep your hand wet so the fish’s skin doesn't burn. The fish will buck around so make sure you are holding it tightly. Put the fish in a chilli bin so it can stay cool and won’t get rotten. The best times to go fishing for trout is Breakfast time, Lunch and dinner as they eat relatively the same times as us

These are most of the useful tips for these 3 types of fishing. If you want to see some of this fishing happen. Youtube 1Rod1Reel Fishing for freshwater fishing videos and BlacktipH for saltwater, Bar fishing, beach fishing videos. Thank you for reading. Hopefully you can go and catch some good fish. See you out there anglers!

My Narritive

Orientation
On a crisp clear morning in Hoogmade, A 6ft 5 man namely Petrus Van Der Geest booked a boat to New Zealand, on the boat he found a liking for cigarettes.

Complication
Out of nowhere on the boat he met a lovely lady called Anna. They both fell in love and eventually got married. When they got to New Zealand they declared they wanted marriage. They got married and had their first child, a lovley girl that they named Maria. When Maria was able to talk she asked her father “Dad what is our last name in english” and her father said “Oh, well time to go on a quest, Honey don’t stay up if i’m back late” “Ok Pete, Bye don’t die”, said Anna cuddling their newborn baby Rick, “Ok but first can I pack some Bread and Butter, also some Rum, Wine and Beer”.

Series Of Events
On his trip he met many people, some small, some tall, some skinny, some big and some really big, he got thirsty so he cracked open his Rum bottle and started chugging. After that he met a really nice smoke cloud, Peter tried to talk to him, he thought he was nicer than other people because he actually listened, but he didn’t reply though… So weird. The next day Pete woke up, puked his guts out, then he had some bread and butter, some beer and then set off, he did this for a few more days until he met someone who said he saw a translator who lived in a cave. Peter felt curious when he said there was some guardians guarding him, he just thought a little beer and some bread and they would be sorted, but he found out one thing, one terribly horrific thing, perhaps the most horrific thing ever noticed by man kind, they had a craving for human flesh… just kidding, but they had a serious craving for, I - I I don’t know if I can say it, but I have to because otherwise I wouldn’t get paid, they had a craving for Butter. “NOOO” yelled Peter, what was he supposed to have on his bread, just the thought of bare bread is horrible. He gave up and gave them his butter. He then met the translator, he was cloaked and had a deep croaky voice, “What do you want!” “Uhhh hey um, I want to see what my last name is,” “Well what is your last name man” “Van Der Geest” “Van Der Geest Aye, well that is dutch, am I correct?” “Yes” “Well Van Is from, Der is The and Geest is Ghost, so your last name in english is From The Ghost” “Whoa sweet, Thanks man” “Your welcome now Shoo shoo”. On his way back home he cracked open his half Rum bottle and chugged the rest of it. He had a cigarette and saw Smokey the Smoke cloud(Yes he decided to call him Smokey(And yes he decided to claim Smokey as a boy)). He was so happy that he smoked some more, and then he found out that Smokey had a Girlfriend, a girl named Smokester, yeah, she was a real Thug. They had a chat and then went their separate ways. On Peter's journey back he met a ghost. It haunted the bread and it was very mad that Peter was eating his legs, Peter told him to shut up because he was a bread ghost and nobody was scared of him, I mean like, go into a random house and I bet you there is a loaf of bread, walk into my house and you’ll see someone eating it either on a sandwich or toasted. Anyway, He started walking but his feet got sore, so he called an Uber. He told the Uber to stop just out of reach of sight from his house, he got out and pretended to be very tired when he got home, he got asked, “Dad Dad whats our last name!? And Peter said “From The Ghost”, “Whoa” “Swabbage” said Rick, “Heyyy, who taught him to say Savage without me???” “I did said Anna” So they had a massive pee fight, with the edible pee’s, not the liquid Pee. Peter and Anna had a few more kids, I’ll name them from age, oldest to youngest, Maria, Rick, Annette, Johanna(Jo) and finally my dad Colin.

Resolution
Alright gang, let’s recap, first Peter went on a quest to find out what his last name was, he met Smokey, smoked, got heavily drunk, came back, had another three kids, and had a Pee fight! Hope you enjoyed my story… “Hey get out of my house you have finished with this stupid story, now SCRAM!!!” “Ok Ok, Bye bye”. Man that was intense, anyway hope you enjoyed my story, I might right a number 2, but now I have to go number 2, so bye for now!

Peter/Pete/Petrus is my Grandpa, he is Dutch, and he is real. However this is a Fictional story and made up from the top of my head.

NZ Readaloud

This year in NZ Readaloud we are reading a book called "An Unexpected Hero". It is when a boy by the name of Matt Turner, Descendant of Archie Baxter, has to leave his fallow Comrades(Parents) and journey to the country side(By Car) to live with his Grandparents who fought in the great war, he has to write a war story about his descendent but gets punished(bullied) by former friends for spluttering during his speech and also getting drunk with(hanging-out) a garl by the name of Susan of whom another man(boy) loved. Tlas Matt was certain to turn things around, even if he loses some friends.

Wow, ah I feel a bit dizzy and how did I say all that... oh well never mind at least its done, well, see you next time.
