Maui and the giant fish facts

1. Mauis brothers did not think he was a good fisherman

2. The reason there are so many valleys and gullys is because people wanted food so they cut heaps of meat out.

3. The North Island represents the fish and the south island Mauis canoe.

  1. Hi Wil

Welcome to the Summer Learning Journey. My name is Allie and I will be one of the people blogging with you over the summer. You have made a great start to the programme.
Well done with your three facts about Maui. There are so many really good myths and legends to read about Maui and his adventures.
Have you read any other stories about Maui? I am sure there are so many others in you school library that you would be able to read.
Maui was a bit sneaky too don't you think? His brothers didn't want him to go fishing with them but he went anyway!

You are so right about the South Island being the canoe, you can almost see that when you look at the map.

Well done Wil, I look forward to reading more of your posts over the summer.

    Until next time

    Allie :)
